January 4th Meeting

At December's Photography Club meeting we practiced creating bokeh effect with lighting.  Here are links to 2 short videos about this (and the 2nd one includes ways to create custom bokeh effects like snowflake or hearts).

Creating your blog and basic composition rules

For those of you newer to photography, or anyone needing a refresher; you can find some common photography rules that are helpful below!

Instructions on how to start your blog:

You’ll need
  • Internet access
  • An email account

First- Create a Blogger account
- Open your search engine.
- Go to Blogger.com
Click on the orange “Sign Up” box at the top right of your screen - if you have a gmail - this will be really easy because blogger is a gmail product.

In “Step One”
  • In the blog title box, enter “first name’s photography blog” (ex: Dani’s Photography Blog)- this is what will show up at the top of your blog.
  • In the (URL) box, enter the same thing as the title, but with no space or apostrophe (ex: danisphotographyblog) - the URL can be seen by everyone so keep it school appropriate.
  • If it is available, hit continue. If it’s not, select one of the suggestions, and then hit continue.
  • Select a template and hit continue.

Once you complete this, you have finished creating your blog!

But you’re not done yet, select and copy the web address (URL) of your new blog.
Then open up your email- either gmail directly from blogger, or open the one you use (i.e. yahoo or hotmail).

Send an email with the following info to:

Subject: Photography Club Blog
Full Name: ______
Paste URL here: _____
